PokerNews Live Reporter
PokerNews is looking for interested writers to join its team of live reporters.
Our live reporters travel the globe to bring fans live coverage of poker’s biggest events. The PokerNews team is the exclusive live reporting partner of the WSOP and an official live reporting partner for PokerStars events around the world.
We are accepting writing samples from interested writers. If this sounds right for you, jump on the opportunity to learn from our team of experienced professionals in an exciting job that will help take your writing to the next level!
Responsibilities include:
- Provide real-time coverage of poker events, such as the World Series of Poker and other live or online series.
- Work in conjunction with the editorial team to preview and recap events daily, including interviews with winners and other notable poker players.
- Other opportunities to contribute editorial coverage to PokerNews
The ideal candidate
- A passion for poker and its players
- Solid communication skills in English (verbal and written)
- Able to work independently and be self-motivated
- Able to adapt and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Experience is great, but we train motivated candidates

Highly motivated and creative writers with a passion for poker are encouraged to send in writing samples, and you must be 21+.
What's in it for you?
Live reporters are compensated with a day rate on a per-event basis. You'll join a team that travels around the world all year long to bring live updates to our readers. Additionally, PokerNews compensates live reporters for their accommodations and living expenses throughout events like the WSOP.
How to get involved
If you think joining the PokerNews live reporting team might be right for you, send a writing sample that meets the following criteria:
- The writing sample should be no more than 500 words.
- You should answer the following prompt: “Who should be the next player elected to the Poker Hall of Fame?”
- Your writing sample should be submitted in Word or PDF format.
- Include your name. Other contact information is not necessary until later in the process. We will respond via email.
- Please do not send a CV/resume until requested.
What happens next?
We will aim to get back to you as soon as possible. If you meet the criteria, then we’ll invite you to a Zoom interview.

Fullstack Web Developer
The Role
PokerNews is looking for a Fullstack Web Developer to join our team in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Why we need you
Our Product Team is growing, and we are looking for a developer who will assist the frontend and backend teams in delivering an outstanding poker (news) experience. We are in the process of rebuilding our product and are looking for someone who feels passion for the code and sees the beauty in it.
Join our team and become a driving force behind how readers consume content and poker players engage with our website, directly crafting the future of our platform.
Who we’re looking for:
You will be directly reporting to the Tech Lead and you will:
- Work in a Product Team of seven people in an Agile Scrum environment.
- Decouple monolith application into smaller services using different techniques (micro-services, micro-frontends or service layer pattern).
- Write tests (unit, functional or integration)
- Provide feedback through peer code review
Your experience:
- git – we use GitHub
- proficiency with ReactJS or similar Javascript framework
- php – familiar with Symfony or similar PHP framework
- understand how queues work.
- Experience with the RabbitMQ would be a bonus

CRM Specialist
The Role
PokerNews is looking for a CRM Specialist to join our marketing team based in our London or Leeds office.
Why we need you:
Key Responsibilities
- Own the responsibility for marketing retention campaigns (Newsletter – Direct Email Marketing – Push Notification service): idea generation, proposal preparation, overseeing the production process, and execution.
- Ideate and execute a plan of exclusive promotions to keep our users constantly engaged (leagues, contests, riddles, etc)
- Write email content for Poker, Free Online Games and Casinos lovers and deliver them on a daily/weekly schedule
- Set a push notification acquisition strategy and delivery timely content for the right audience
- Develop automated comms routines to target relevant audience segments, e.g. Welcome Campaigns, Casino Content Cross-Sell.
- Set a Research strategy to understand audience behaviors and preferences better, both online (e.g. Surveys) and at the Live Poker Events (official booth, info-point)
- Segment the customer database to target marketing activities appropriately
- Track the results and optimize the content to increase open-rate and conversions.
- Liaise with other departments (Content, Commercial, Social) to create a CRM strategy that works across the board.
Who we're looking for:
- English first language
- Two to three years of experience in successfully executing CRM campaigns
- Strong knowledge in the Gambling field to create high-quality content
- Strong knowledge of the US market
- Experience with CRM industry programs, such as Xtremepush
- Knowledge of GDPR and responsible gambling frameworks
- Commercial awareness to understand the target market and design campaigns accordingly
- Familiarity with Gambling marketing aspects, such as bonus and promotions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (email, phone, etc.)
